Visa Overview
Employer Sponsored Stream Visa holders are limited to living, working, and studying in specific regional areas of Australia for a period of five years. They are also permitted to travel inside Australia for a period of five years. If qualified, holders may apply for permanent residence after three years of the visa’s issuance.
Pathways to Permanent Residence
After retaining your 494 visa for three years, if qualified, you can file for permanent residence. Holders of a subclass 494 visa are not eligible to apply for a subclass 820 (Partner) visa until after they have held their visa for three years.
